The View\u00a0<\/em>is under fire from the\u00a0Taylor Sheridan\u00a0\u00a0TV\u00a0universe.<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of Sheridan\u2019s gritty oil prospecting drama\u00a0Landman<\/em>, Billy Bob Thornton\u2019s gruff crisis fixer and oil exec Tommy Norris takes a shot at the long-running daytime talk show. Speaking with his estranged father T.L. (Sam Elliott) over the phone, Tommy suggests the bored retiree find some new way of filling his time after moving in with his son.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what to do,\u201d T.L. bemoans. \u201cWell s\u2014, do whatever you want to, read a book or watch TV, watch one of those daytime talk shows, like\u00a0The View\u00a0<\/em>or something.\u201d<\/p>\n

T.L. innocently asks, \u201cWhat\u2019s\u00a0The View<\/em>?\u201d prompting Tommy to launch into a casual yet brutal takedown.<\/p>\n

However savage Tommy is in his assessment, he does at least qualify his remarks by calling\u00a0The View\u00a0<\/em>\u201cpretty funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entertainment Weekly\u00a0<\/em>has reached out to a representative for\u00a0The View\u00a0<\/em>for comment.<\/p>\n

Landman\u00a0<\/em>is the seventh show the prolific Sheridan has premiered since\u00a0Yellowstone\u00a0<\/em>first\u00a0<\/em>made waves with its 2018. It may be the latest show to enter the Sheridan-verse, but as yet it bears no direct connection to\u00a0Yellowstone\u00a0<\/em>or its many spinoffs, aside from featuring two cast members who previously appeared on those spinoffs (Michelle Randolph appeared in\u00a01923\u00a0<\/em>and Elliott starred in\u00a01883<\/em>).<\/em><\/p>\n

The current cast of\u00a0The View\u00a0<\/em>\u2014 Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin \u2014 have rarely ventured commentary on Sheridan or his TV universe, which tends to portray rugged individualists who at times espouse conservative values. But panelists like Goldberg and Behar comment daily on American conservatism and frequently critique Trump.<\/p>\n
