Joe Kent, the man who\u00a0until recently<\/strong>\u00a0served as the director of the US National Counterterrorism Center has made a series of strong claims about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turning Point USA founder and political activist Kirk was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025 when he was shot through the neck.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old\u2019s death sent shockwaves around America, while a large-scale manhunt soon ensued to capture his killer. Kirk was shot from a rooftop approximately\u00a0410 feet away, and amidst the confusion and chaos, the shooter was able to escape.<\/p>\n

22-year-old Tyler Robinson turned himself in 36 hours after the shooting, bringing a remarkably swift conclusion to a case that had captured the world\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to present and Joe Kent, Donald Trump\u2019s former terrorism chief, has made a series of claims about Kirk\u2019s assassination following his decision to resign as director of the National Counterterrorism Center.<\/p>\n

One day after announcing his resignation on X, Kent appeared on\u00a0The Tucker Carlson Show<\/a>. Among the subjects touched upon were the Iran war and the death of Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n

As stated above, Tyler Robinson was arrested and charged with Kirk\u2019s murder, though Kent has cast doubts on the conclusion.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u201dBut the investigation that I was a part of \u2013 the National Terrorism Center was a part of \u2013 we were stopped from continuing to investigate,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cCharlie Kirk was killed publicly in a very horrific way, and we\u2019re not really even allowed to look into that at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kent went on: \u201cWe\u2019ve been told that this individual \u2013 Robinson \u2013 is a lone gunman, and maybe he is. But there was still a lot for us to look into that I can\u2019t really get into.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also claimed that the FBI gave control of the investigation to Utah authorities, saying there were still \u201cunanswered questions\u201d and \u201clinkage\u201d that should have been examined.<\/p>\n

The FBI declined to comment on Kent\u2019s allegations, while a law enforcement source accused him of making claims without evidence.<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/a>, the source revealed: \u201cDuring the early stages of the Charlie Kirk investigation, he would walk into meetings, without any information or evidence, and speculate that Iran had killed Charlie, as a senior NCTC official. And when asked for evidence, he had none.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kent also revealed Kirk\u2019s final words to him, shared a few months before his death.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last time I saw Charlie Kirk on this earth was in June in the West Wing in the stairway,\u201d the 45-year-old said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I said hi to him, and he looked me in the eye and said very loudly\u2026 \u2018Joe, stop us from getting into a war with Iran.’\u201d<\/p>\n
